Terms of Reference  

TERMS OF REFERENCE

  1. Support the development and implementation of BACP's Criminal Justice Forum for Counsellors and Psychotherapists working with individuals touched by the criminal justice system

    • 1.1 Support strategy planning sessions
    • 1.2 Review progress made and provide suggestions for moving forward
    • 1.3 Consult with staff, volunteers and trustees with endorsement from the senior management team

  2. Work with therapists and other stakeholders in the sector and BACP staff resource in development of the strategy and subsequent work programme

    • 2.1 Provide/obtain expert advice and work with appropriate sector stakeholders and BACP staff resource to develop the programme
    • 2.2 Contribute ideas for potential work programme

  3. Comment on the work programme for the project

    • 3.1 Receive and comment on reports on issues surrounding the sector
    • 3.2 Act as an impartial reference and advisory point for relevant sector policies, documents and materials produced by BACP

  4. Provide an overview of activity and views within each member's area of expertise

    • 4.1 Contribute knowledge of new developments
    • 4.2 Comment on viability of and relevance to the sector
    • 4.3 Receive reports and presentations from individuals/organisations on new initiatives in the sector
  5. Act as champions for the project

    • 5.1 Promote project to others within BACP and externally
    • 5.2 Raise awareness, to both the public and BACP members, of the range of issues, in the context of mental health, that impact on Criminal Justice Services users.

  6. In liaison with BACP's Head of Research and Research team propose, plan and deliver appropriate research projects

    • 6.1 Optimise resourcing from all sources.
